Silver tree

Quick Christmas card with silver tree

Description

A smooth white card has a rectangle of blue foil card covered with a rectangle of mesh material decorated with silver stars. This is topped with a pine tree cut from silver foil card. The design is finished with a "Seasons Greetings" sticker.

Materials used

  • White greetings card 104mm x 152mm (4¼ ins x 6 ins.)
  • Blue foil card
  • Silver foil card
  • Sticker No. 18 Seasons Greetings
  • White mesh fabric with stars
  • Deckle edge scissors
  • Card adhesive

Method

Cut a rectangle of blue foil card, 40 mm x 70 mm, using deckle edge scissors.

Mount this on the greeting card with adhesive or double-sided tape.

Cut a rectangle of the mesh material slightly larger than the blue card rectangle.

Mount the material on the blue foil card with adhesive. This can be hidden behind the stars. If you can not find any suitable star material you could create your own by using silver fabric paint to pipe on the stars.

Make a template for the Christmas tree by folding a sheet of paper in half and cutting out half the design on the edge away from the fold. When you unfold this you will have a template with equal sides. Lay this over your silver card and cut out the tree.

Mount the tree on the material rectangle with adhesive or double-sided tape.

Add a "Seasons Greetings" sticker.
